The Windmill Quilt Coat

Made from a vintage circa-1940s quilt, The Windmill Quilt Coat carries more than 80 years of history into its next chapter. Soft ivory muslin is pieced with faded celadon and mint-green cotton, with charming hand-pieced motifs scattered across the jacket.

The relaxed, open-front silhouette features a soft shawl collar and generous front pockets, allowing the original quilt pattern, hand stitching, fading and beautiful imperfections to remain part of the design.

The muslin in this quilt is particularly delicate due to its age. Areas of wear, thinning and small imperfections are not considered flaws—they are evidence of the textile’s long life. This is a one-of-one heirloom garment designed to be worn thoughtfully and handled with care.

Care:

• Vintage textile — please handle with extra care
• Muslin is fragile and may tear or weaken with excessive pulling or friction
• Spot clean whenever possible
• Hand wash only when necessary in cold water
• Use a small amount of gentle detergent
• Do not soak
• Do not wring or twist
• Do not bleach
• Support the entire garment when wet
• Lay flat to air dry
• Do not tumble dry
• Store folded rather than hanging for extended periods
