FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHERE ARE YOUR QUILT COATS MADE?

All of our quilts are either hand made in our home studio or with a local manufacturer in Scarborough, Ontario. We source materials from either local thrift shops, through Facebook Marketplace or, they are donated to Born Yesterday. 

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY ORDER?

We make small batch, one-of-a-kind ready to ship pieces, with the exception of our custom orders. The production time for quilt coats and vests is 4-6 weeks.  Ready to ship items are shipped right away.  You'll receive an email with tracking info as soon as your order is finished and on the way!

CAN I WASH MY QUILT COAT?

Yes! Most of our quilt coats and other items are machine washable.  Check out our Care page for specific instructions on how to care for each product.

HOW DO I FIGURE OUT MY QUILT COAT SIZE? (CURRENTLY BEING UPDATED)

DO YOU TAKE CUSTOM ORDERS?

We are currently taking commissions for custom quilt coats and vests at this time - we love working with clients to create custom pieces for you! Fill out a Custom Request Form  on our Custom page.

WHAT CARRIER DO YOU SHIP WITH?

We ship with Canada Post, UPS and Purolator.  Once your order is in the mail, you'll receive an email with tracking information and your package will usually arrive within 2-3 business days.

DO YOU ACCEPT RETURNS?

We accept returns of items in their original condition for a refund, exchange, or store credit.  Please email hello@bornyesterday.ca within 7 days of receiving your order with your return request.

For exchanges, we'll send you a complementary return label.  Once we receive the item, your replacement order will be added to the queue with the standard production time for the item.

For a refund, you'll receive a shipping address to send the item to.  The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping and providing us with a tracking number.  A full refund will be issued once the item is received and inspected.

Custom and sale items cannot be returned.

IS YOUR PACKAGING RECYCLABLE?

We're proud to ship our products in completely plastic-free packaging.  We use plastic-free, 100% compostable mailers made from PBAT and corn starch, recyclable bamboo shipping boxes, eco-friendly kraft tape, 100% recycled kraft mailers, and paper packaging materials that are made to be easily recycled in your home compost bin.
