The Studio Muse Coat

A true collaboration between art, clothing and reuse. The Studio Muse Coat was created from donated jersey jogging pants once worn by artist Erica Mills while she painted. The original paint splatters remain throughout the garment — traces of the textile’s former life that have become part of the finished design.

Soft floral jersey, hand-dyed-looking blue and cream sections, heather grey and muted mauve have been patchworked together into a relaxed, open-front coat with an easy drape and longline silhouette. The beautifully imperfect paint-marked panels make this piece especially unique: the marks weren’t added for the garment — they were earned in the studio.

Upcycled cotton-blend jogging pants and jersey textiles

Size: M/L generous fit 

Care:

• Hand wash cold or machine wash on a very gentle cycle
• Use mild detergent
• Do not bleach
• Do not scrub or pick at the painted areas
• Paint marks are original and may naturally change or soften with continued wear and washing
• Tumble dry  or hang to air dry
• Iron and spray starch to maintain structure
